Motion: Betsy DeVos’ proposed Title IX regulations on sexual harassment are a step in the right direction.
The Trump administration has proposed regulations to roll back Obama-era regulations on Title IX sexual harassment. While some argue that the proposed regulations correct Obama-era overreach and violation of due process, others claim this will keep victims from getting justice. The proposed regulations are not yet final, but they have generated considerable interest: More than 124,000 people participated in the Department of Education’s recent public comment period.
Join us for a debate between leading scholars on whether Betsy DeVos’ proposed Title IX regulations on sexual harassment are a step in the right direction. The audience will vote at the beginning and at the end to determine the winner. There will be a wine and cheese reception at the beginning of the event.
