Enterprise-driven development: A conversation with US Agency for International Development Administrator Mark Green – AEI – American Enterprise Institute: Freedom, Opportunity, Enterprise8th December 2018
The future of international development is enterprise driven. Private enterprises are often the driving force behind new innovations that solve intractable problems, and business investment generates tax revenues that communities need to support infrastructure improvements and social services. Engaging the private sector in international development is also essential in building access to strong trading and investment partners, growing the consumer base for American products, and establishing a level, competitive playing field across industries.
Please join AEI for a special event with US Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Mark Green, marking the launch of USAID’s new private-sector engagement policy. The policy calls on the agency and its partners to collaborate with the private sector and seek market-based approaches across all areas of its work — including economic growth, energy, agriculture, global health, gender equality, education, and crisis and conflict.
