Liberalism, conservatism, and the American founding – AEI – American Enterprise Institute: Freedom, Opportunity, Enterprise29th September 2018
Join AEI as AEI’s Ryan Streeter, Daniel McCarthy of Modern Age, Samuel Gregg of the Acton Institute, and Ted McAllister of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy come together to commemorate the 100th birthday of conservative luminary Russell Kirk. With a particular focus on his popular work “The Roots of American Order” (1974), panelists will consider the ways in which revisiting Kirk’s work can provide guidance and perspective in today’s debates over the meaning of liberalism, the American founding, and whether there is or can be an authentically conservative tradition in America.
