The future of US-Colombia relations: A conversation with Colombian Vice President Marta Lucía Ramírez – AEI – American Enterprise Institute: Freedom, Opportunity, Enterprise2nd May 2019
For decades, the US-Colombia relationship has facilitated vital cooperation on security, trade, and a host of regional issues. Under President Iván Duque Márquez and Vice President Marta Lucía Ramírez, Colombia is working with the US to confront the hostile Venezuelan regime and combat the resurgence of coca cultivation and transnational organized crime. As the Duque government attempts to bolster economic growth, it must also contend with the challenges of absorbing more than 1.2 million Venezuelan refugees and the implementation of a contentious peace accord with FARC guerrillas.
Join AEI for a conversation with Colombian Vice President Marta Lucía Ramírez on the US-Colombia relationship, the Venezuelan crisis, and transnational organized crime.
